Brief History of Ladakh
Ladakh was a region of the state of Jammu & Kashmir,
now it has become a Union Territory on 31st October 2019.
The UT Ladakh is bounded on south by Himachal Pradesh,
west by Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan,
on the north by China and on the east by Tibet.
Ladakh is most famous for breathtaking landscapes,
crystal-clear skies, highest mountain passes,
thrilling adventure activities, Buddhist monasteries
and colorful festivals.
The Union Territory of Ladakh is spread across an area
of approximately 59,146 sq. kms with a population of
2,74,289 as per the 2011 Census.
