SLBC/UTLBC is the apex level forum of bankers and financial institutions operating in the State.
State Level Bankers' Committees/Union Territory Banker’s Committees are formed in all States and UTs in the country for inter-institutional coordination and joint implementation of programmes and policies by all banks and financial institutions operating in the State.
Responsibility for convening SLBC/UTLBC meetings has been assigned by the Reserve Bank of India to various commercial banks in conformity with the Lead Bank Scheme.
The State Bank of India has been assigned the responsibility of Convenor of UTLBC in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
SLBC meetings are held quarterly and provide interaction among banks operating in the State and between banks, State Government authorities, RBI, NABARD and other agencies.
The forum reviews the performance of banks and developmental agencies under the Annual Credit Plan and facilitates removal of implementation difficulties in Government schemes.
